Well, God moves in mysterious ways. Over the last few weeks He has been moving our hearts in a different direction in regards to our adoption. We came across a little boy, on our agency’s waiting child list, who needs a home. After much prayer, we’ve decided to adopt him. He'll be two years old in September. He was born with cleft lip/palate, but has had a successful surgery to repair his lip.

We haven’t decided on a name for him yet … his Chinese name is An Hu Min. We still won’t be traveling to pick him up for probably another 3 to 5 months. But, now we have a face and a name. It has quickly become much easier to pray for a little boy that we can see. Unfortunately, we're not able to post his photo at this time. :-(
You look at a shift like this from the outside and wonder how we could move to something so entirely different. But, that’s the way God works sometimes. We’ve felt a greater peace about this little boy than we have throughout the adoption process.

If you'd like to support us in prayer, here are some requests...
- Pray that God will protect him in the orphanage and get him the care and attention he needs.- Pray for a special bond to develop over the miles between him and Steve and me.- Pray that our paperwork will get through the China Center for Adoptions quickly and that we will also get our travel approval quickly.- Pray that his adjustment to leaving the orphanage (the only home he’s ever known) will be miraculously smooth.- Pray for patience for Steve and I, as it now becomes just a little more difficult to know there is a little boy who we can call our son, but can’t touch or talk to yet.

That's great news. We understand what surprise adoptions are like! We will continue to be praying.

Hi Kate and Steve, congrats on your new little son. It is good to feel peace after making a decision, esp. if you were experiencing "anxiousness" while waiting for the baby. Good luck with the process, We are thinking of you during this time. Take care, love ya Pam & Tom
